Haplogroups
Where a kit carries Y-DNA or mitochondrial results, the haplogroup is recorded on the person that kit is linked to, together with the markers it was read from; the kit's haplogroup page shows the Y and mt predictions in two separate panels and its evidence page lists the markers behind each verdict. A prediction from an array chip is a candidate until a dedicated test confirms it. A haplogroup describes a deep paternal or maternal line; it is not a relationship to a particular ancestor and does not by itself confirm a documented link.
